Our Current Initiatives:

2017 Elections

The Waterford, CT Green Party is currently seeking individuals to run for office in November 2017. Boards with positions up for election include the Board of Finance, Board of Education, Board of Assessment Appeals, Zoning Board of Appeals, and the Representative Town Meeting (RTM). Anyone interested in running for office in the coming year are recommended to contact the WGP as soon as possible.

As the WGP begins to ramp up their campaign, we ask that you consider making a contribution. Our organization is looking for both written statements of endorsement for the candidates, as well as financial donations. We appreciate your support!

WGP Scholarship

The Waterford Green Party is proud to say that, for the past several years, we have successfully raised money for and awarded a $100.00 scholarship to a graduating Waterford High School student. The Waterford Green Party Scholarship for Civic Engagement and Environmentalism seeks to identify an individual that has proven themself to be an active member of the community, politically-involved, and environmentally conscious.

We are always looking for donations to the scholarship fund. To do so, you may contribute either by mailing a check to our headquarters with "Scholarship" in the memo line or via Paypal. You may also view the nomination form here.

Community Bazaar

For the past three years, the Waterford Green Party has held community tag sales to help promote re-use and recycling, while also raising money for both the party and its scholarship fund. These bazaars are typically held in May at Waterford Beach. Check back on this website and on our Facebook page for information about the next Bazaar.

Summer Clean-Ups

Each summer, the Waterford Green Party seeks to hold several clean-ups in high traffic areas in the town. In 2014, the Party cleaned up Douglas Lane, Stenger Farm, and Gardners Wood Road. In 2015, they have held a clean-up at Waterford Beach Park and on Rope Ferry Road in August.
